Shelley and Will had the most perfect fall wedding at the beautiful Brittland Manor in Chestertown, Maryland filled with history, love, laughs and even licks! A historic brick home sits in the middle of the property surrounded by manicured gardens, huge old trees, farming fields, and a dock over the Chester River. The moment I arrived and looked down towards the water, I was transported back to the 1700’s. The Downrigging Festival was taking place and several tall ships and wooden boats were touring the Chester River which turns out to be America’s best preserved colonial seaport!
Shelley and Will started their day with a first look on the dock and shortly after, their sweet yellow lab Chatham joined in. In honor of Chatham, straws with dog tongues as well as straws with lips were seen on the bar. Guests could choose between licks or kisses! The bridal party joined us next under the most gorgeous trees with bright orange and yellow leaves. Shelley and Will had a few sweet moments together around the property before parting until their garden ceremony. The decor showed their love for travel, moscow mule mugs, and their alma maters. The tent was filled with pale pink and ivory tables with gold pumpkin and candle centerpieces all made by their Aunt. She also made these detailed, colorful chocolate covered pretzels that I enjoyed using for their ring shots! For their reception, the Whipple Jam Band rocked the house and I loved the energy on the dance floor!
