It was on a trip to Colorado that he met Karie at an Irish restaurant. They hit it off and after their long distance relationship, Karie made the big move to Virginia. Brett planned the perfect proposal on an airplane ride to St. Thomas. Karie was seated with the passengers while Brett piloted the plane. Over the intercom, he asked Karie to marry him and after she said yes, everyone clapped in celebration! After landing, these two spent a few days on the island celebrating their engagement.
