Sailing the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia

We just returned from the most memorable trip sailing and exploring the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia! It has always been a dream of mine to charter a sailboat in another country since my 20’s and it finally came true! The trip started out with a flight into historic Dubrovnik where we walked the impressive stone wall surrounding the city. Next we drove down to Split where we picked up our 34 foot Beneteau monohull sailboat and took off for the islands! We visited the islands of Brac, Hvar, Vis, Paklinski and Solta. Each town was full of historic stone architecture, restaurants lining the streets, fresh exotic seafood and fruits, artists and their works, and local wines and olive oils. The water was the most beautiful deep blue in the Adriatic Sea and turned to turquoise as we approached shallow waters. Turns out this is the one of the top sailing charter destinations in the world and I can see why!
