It was calling for rain on Katie and Matt’s wedding day, about an 80% chance! With their outdoor ceremony at the Hahn Horticulture Garden in Blacksburg, Virginia, we were all nervously hoping the weather would hold out. And hold out it did. The sun even came out for their ceremony! During cocktail hour, a quick storm blew through while I hid with Katie and Matt under a kiosk. Things got wet and broken but with the help of Professional Catering and the guests, everything was dried and put back in no time at all! This site was chosen because it was the very spot where Matt proposed to Katie. The reception was gorgeous with colorful lighting by DJ Quest Entertainment. A surprise guest was the hokie bird who had some pretty impressive moves on the dance floor! Throughout the day, bride and groom rubber ducks were floating around in the pond together, so cute! And turns out Matt is pretty talented at brewing his own beer and several samples were at the wedding as gifts to each guest. All in all, they couldn’t have asked for a more memorable wedding day!

Love your reception shots – especially the ones where you incorporated the ambient light – that purple adds a bit of drama!
Thanks Natalie! It was such a fun wedding and lots of energy on the dance floor the whole time!
I love the Hahn! Beautiful job on these photos. My favorite is the dance shot of the bride being lifted up with her dress flowing out – so pretty and fun!
