Virginian Leader Feature Story!

I was very lucky to have my business featured in the Virginian Leader, a local Giles County, Virginia newspaper. This is my first publicity story in a newspaper and it’s been very exciting! P.S. The image is a little blurry because it is scanned in!

Katie & Nick | Smithfield Plantation Blacksburg Virginia Wedding Photography

Katie & Nick celebrated their marriage at the beautiful historic Smithfield Plantation in Blacksburg, Virginia under the brand new pavilion. Their quaker ceremony consisted of a moment of silence where guests were allowed to stand up and say a few words, similar to a toast. After their vows, or promises to each other, Katie and Nick signed a large certificate promising to live by these words. Afterwards, every single guest also signed this certificate as witnesses to the promise! Katie and Nick will hang this in their home to remember these vows and their special day forever. The color scheme was beautiful and very fitting for an outdoor event, a mix of green, plum, brown and light pink. The silverware and plates were all biodegradable wood made by Aspenware. Also, the bride, groom, and groomsmen all wore TOMS shoes, a company that donates a pair of shoes for each pair purchased. All in all, a beautiful summer day with some wonderful people!

Leigh & Craig | The Homestead Hot Springs Virginia Wedding Photography

Leigh & Craig’s wedding at The Homestead in Hot Springs, Virginia was just amazing! The newlyweds chose this location because they have such a love for the mountains and Leigh has visited the Hot Springs area ever since she was a baby. After Craig met Leigh, he also became so attached to the area that they are building a home nearby.

Leigh absolutely loves fashion and this really showed with her Jimmy Choo stilletos, her unique ivory knee-lenth dress, and her “something blue” diamond earrings. Her short dress showed off Craig’s favorite attribute about Leigh, her gorgeous legs!

Craig, born and raised in Texas, loves everything country. This could be seen in a spectacular wedding cake Leigh ordered for Craig as a surprise. It included ropes, a single red rose, cowboy boots, spurs, cowhide, and a cake topper with the couple sporting cowboy hats.

Ashley & Sean Engagement | Bluefield West Virginia Engagement Portrait Photographer

Ashley & Sean met during a night out on the town in downtown Roanoke and it was love at first sight. Soon after, Sean proposed to Ashley on her birthday and it was the best present she has ever received! Sean is a Bluefield, WV native and a huge WVU football fan, so they chose the scenic Bluefield, WV downtown area for their pictures. We started out at a beautiful overlook of the entire town with some huge stone outcrops. We then enjoyed the rustic look of the scenic historic downtown area, the abandoned metal framed parking garage and, of course, the junkyard dogs! Ashley and Sean became local celebrities with all the attention they were receiving!

Southern Soul & Blues

Being a huge fan of blues music and of B.B. King, I was thrilled to get the opportunity to visit Beale Street in Memphis, TN. My favorite spot was the Blues Hall Juke Joint which was always filled with talented singers and musicians rocking the house! After Memphis, we stopped by Tupelo, MS and came across a cat in a guitar shop downtown. The locals refer to him as “shop cat.”
