Nadira and Kayvon found love over a muffin! These two did go to the same high school together in Roanoke but it wasn’t until after that they met at a party at Kayvon’s house.  Kayvon couldn’t get his mind off of Nadira and later asked her if she liked muffins. Nadira said yes and their first date took place at a bakery over muffins! Nadira and Kayvon have been together for 6 years now and the proposal recently took place while on a cruise in the Caribbean. The wedding is being planned back in Roanoke next summer where they grew up and visit often to hang out with family. For their engagement session, we explored the beautiful harbor area of Annapolis. We also happened to find a bakery that sold blueberry muffins so we had to buy one for them to share!

It has been so fun watching the Matheson Family grow over the years and now Bethany and Michael have two of the sweetest little boys, Gordon and Bastien. Everyone came to visit the eastern shore for the weekend and we did a little Christmas shoot in Easton, Maryland. We choose a simple street leading through the woods and brought along a classic Radio Flyer wagon. This was 6 month old Bastien’s first time riding in a wagon and I think you can tell he loved it from his expressions!

Every year when wedding season slows down my husband and I always spend more time in the kitchen. We recently discovered a beautiful apple orchard in Caroline County, Blades Orchard. We came home with bushels of apples and not one went to waste. Not only does my son love to eat apples, but you can create so many different canning recipes from them. We started with apple butter and apple jam and then my husband added a variety of hot peppers to create a spicy apple pepper jam. I can’t wait to start handing these out for the holidays!

I really enjoyed documenting the third annual Brew & Oyster Brawl at The Tidewater Inn this weekend! The food was amazing from the four types of freshly shucked oysters to the oyster fritters, crab cakes, oyster chowder, and more. Dogfish Head Brewery provided some coffee infused draft beer and Tidewater made a bacon infused vodka bloody mary! The popular local band, MuleTrain, performed and had the perfect sound for this event. Everyone even got to take home a beautiful customized oyster knife. If you missed it this year, you must check it out next year happening again during the Waterfowl Festival!

This was the Rossbach family’s first time visiting the Adkins Arboretum in Ridgely, Maryland and my first time as well! It had to be the most perfect spot for two boys full of energy, a 400 acre preserve of the Chesapeake Bay region’s native landscapes. The first stop was to visit the happy goats who live on the property. Next, Adrian and Tony did a little bit of gardening at the children’s garden. Then, we took off into the woods with the boys leading the way. Luckily, they were equipped with a map, binoculars, and compass so we were in good hands!
