For the proposal, Taylor drove 4 hours to pick up a cake from Sara’s favorite bakery, Mickey’s Pastry Shop in Goldsboro, North Carolina. He put it in the fridge along with a camera, recorded her as she opened the door and saw the cake, and got down on one knee to propose. How sweet is that! Literally! Sara and Taylor’s big day is planned for this coming April at the chapel on the Emory & Henry Campus followed by a reception at the Martha Washington Inn. For their engagement session, we toured one of their favorite spots, downtown Abingdon. We stopped in a really cute cupcake shop, Babycakes Cupcakery, and Sara ordered the perfect white cupcake called the “wedding.” Taylor opted for the maple bacon cupcake instead! Next it was off to the Emory & Henry campus to take advantage of all of those gorgeous fall colors. I love how Sara and Taylor make each other laugh and can’t wait for their big day!
