I loved photographing Alice & Garrick’s engagement session at Lake Elkhorn in Columbia, Maryland! This beautiful lake is one of their favorite places to walk together with coffee in hand, so it was the perfect setting for their photos. Their adorable Australian Shepherd, Fable, joined us too!

Alice & Garrick’s love story began during covid when they connected through an online Dungeons & Dragons campaign. Their first date in January 2022 was a virtual movie night watching Tick, Tick… Boom! while Garrick was pursuing his PhD in Maryland and Alice was working on hers in California. They spent the first two and a half years of their relationship long-distance, staying connected through movies and online games.

Now living together in Columbia, they enjoy exploring coffee shops, walking around the lakes, and playing games together. Garrick planned the perfect proposal, starting with coffee at a cafe overlooking the water, followed by a lakeside walk. He had convinced Alice her ring wouldn’t be ready for a while, although she became suspicious when he shaved the night before! After finding the perfect spot, he popped the question!

It was so much fun exploring the trails and waterfront with these two and Fable, capturing their sweet moments and natural smiles. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding day next!
